Forest bathing has also taken root in Belgium. The definition of forest baths includes all preventive or curative practices that take place in the forest environment.

Terms you often hear are shinrinyoku, forest bathing, forest therapy, forest mindfulness, forest mind and so on ...

This can all be quite confusing.

These practices have a similar characteristic: they aim to stimulate as many senses as possible. Many practitioners will slowly sharpen their capacity of feeling. As a result, our body relaxes and ultimately the mind relaxes and clarifies as well.

Forest therapy goes a step further. You can call it forest baths, but not every forest pool can be called forest therapy.

In forest therapy, the forest becomes the therapist who gives the practitioner what he or she needs. Forest therapy guides provide a comfortable and safe environment for the practitioner to find his or her own medicine, at his / her pace.
